· Bernstein has always enjoyed the process of glassblowing, but his sculptural wall reliefs are compiled of not only hand-blown sheet glass, in addition they are composed of wood, aluminum, color pencil, and acrylic paint.
· Painting on glass has allowed Bernstein to transform this beautiful and seductive material into narrative sculptures that express deep inner life that animates all human beings.
· Bernstein held a crucial role in the Studio Glass Movement as one of the first glass artists to include the language of humor throughout his artworks, as opposed to primarily focusing on “glassier” forms.
