HOUDINI, Harry (Erik Weisz, 1874 - 1926). Houdini's Paper Magic Inscribed and Signed to Beatrice Houdini. New York: E.P. Dutton & Company, (1922). Red cloth ruled and lettered black. Color frontispiece, illustrated. 8vo. Bookplate of Beatrice Houdini to front pastedown, INSCRIBED by her: "Beatrice Houdini / wife of the author," and with the ownership signature of John A. Hinson below. Boards bowed, soiled, and chipped, front hinge weak, old tape stains to pastedowns. With a heartfelt INSCRIPTION from Houdini to his wife, Beatrice, on the flyleaf: "To my darling sweetheart wife, soulmate, friend and lifes companion, and one who anticipates my every wish, fully appreciating her endeavors and to whom I shall give flowers during life. Houdini. April 25/1922 New York City." Also SIGNED again by Houdini on the dedication page below his name. A remarkable relic emblematic of the strong bond between Houdini and his wife, Bess. Provenance: Collection of Beatrice Houdini, passed to the consignor by descent.
