A farrier, trainer, teacher, and ardent horse philosopher, Stefanie Travers lives in the high sage hills outside Kamloops, BC, alongside her three horses, two dogs, and various paintbrush friends. Her life as an artist is deeply driven by an unfailing passion for the Old Californio style of horsemanship and classical dressage, as well as a profound admiration for the dynamic energy and powerful attitude of bulls. Through her oil paintings, she strives to elegantly capture the soulful, distant look in a horse's eye, the silver adorning a hardworking ranch horse, and the deep pride of a well-developed animal, translating the everyday profoundness she encounters into her work. Travers’ celebrated art has been exhibited throughout western Canada and Texas, earning her Best in Show at the 2025 Calgary Stampede Art Show and the honor of having her piece, “As the Day is Long,” featured as the cover art for the 90th Anniversary Edition of the iconic Western Horseman magazine.
