Details: TBD
Description: TBD This profoundly personal calligraphic meditation stands as one of Jamyang Dorjee Chakrishar's most intimate and vulnerable artistic expressions—a visual crystallization of years of deep Dzogchen study and contemplation. Dzogchen, meaning "Great Perfection," is the pinnacle of Tibetan Buddhism, particularly within the Nyingma Tibetan Buddhist school, that aims for direct realization of one's true nature. More than simply an artwork, Rigpa Awakening is a spiritual autobiography rendered in ink, revealing the inner landscape of a practitioner's journey toward recognition of primordial awareness.
About the Artist: Jamyang Dorjee Chakrishar is a master Tibetan calligrapher residing in Sikkim. Jamyang’s calligraphy is a harmonious dance of Buddhist images and Tibetan language. His work encompasses Buddha’s Body, Speech, and Mind, and inspired Lama Zopa Rinpoche to term his form of calligraphy “Dharma Art.” His work uses the Tibetan u-med script to exhibit the depth, flexibility and artistic flavor of the language. The beauty in Jamyang’s art comes from his deep devotion to the teachings of Buddha and his love for the Tibetan language. Chakrishar’s works are spread throughout the world in private collections and appreciated by many Buddhist masters, including His Holiness the Dalai Lama himself.
