Alex Cooper Presents Distinctive Works in November Gallery Auction

Towson, MD - Baltimore-based Auctioneer Alex Cooper will host a two-day Gallery Auction on Thursday, November 14 and Saturday, November 16, featuring an expansive collection of traditional, modern and contemporary art, fine jewelrysterling silvercurrencyfine rugs, period, mid-century modern, quality reproduction and period furniture, and decorative arts.

Lot 234, A 5.50 ctw Yellow/White Cushion Cut Diamond Ring; Estimate $18,000-$24,000

The auction is headlined by several distinctive works of art. Opening with lot 1000, Michele Torrez’s “Wild Orchid” is a stunning portrait, colorful and impressive in size. Lot 1002, “Bird Tree” by Rafal Olbinski, marks the first time Alex Cooper has presented the work of this prominent, Polish surrealist painter.

Lot 1004, Pablo Picasso. "Joueur de Diaule", Glazed ceramic plate, 1947; Estimate $10,000-$15,000

 Lot 1004 offers a very important ceramic by Pablo Picasso.  “Joueur de Diaule,” is a whimsical terre de faience platter from 1947. Lastly, we are pleased to offer a mini collection by Baltimore artist and former director of the Maryland Institute College of Art Rinehart School of Sculpture, Norman K. CarlbergLots 1062, 1062a, 1062b, 1063 and 1063a represent the breadth and skill of this important artist. Lot 1063a, “Untitled Modular Sculpture” is the highlight of the collection.
