  The hanging shapes in the sculpture are cut from discarded laundry detergent bottles. Magee’s sculptures point to the mundane yet have a sophisticated presence and reference systems of communication. “The brightly colored, Mexican laundry-detergent bottles used to create irregularly shaped elements in these hanging sculptures come from laundromats in West Phoenix and remind us of the intersections between radically different social economies.” — Matt Magee
