Bidding

Once you are registered for an auction you are set to bid. You can now bid two different ways – live bidding or by leaving an absentee bid. New to live bidding? View the short video to see how it works.

Can I bid from my mobile phone or tablet?

Yes, you can download the Bidsquare App to use on your mobile devices or tablet. The app is available to download for FREE from both the Apple App Store and Google Play. You can also access Bidsquare.com on your browser from these devices.

All sales are bound by the Terms & Conditions of the individual auctioneer. Please contact the auction house as soon as possible to discuss your particular situation.
If you are concerned that you made a bid error, please get in touch with the auction house immediately to discuss the situation.
Condition reports and additional information regarding any lots listed can be answered directly by the auction house selling the item. Please see our auction house Directory page for contact information.
If you will not be around during the time of the auction to bid live, you can conveniently leave an absentee bid. Enter the highest value you wish to bid. Bidsquare will bid on your behalf during the live auction until your indicated value. View an example of absentee bidding in the short video below.

Yes. The bid clerk at the auction house will signal the auctioneer when they have bids from the internet and will bid on behalf of Bidsquare internet bidders in pace with the auction.
All successful bidders can confirm their winning bid by checking the “MyBidsquare” tab. In addition, all successful bidders will receive an email notifying them of their winning bid after the auction closes.
Buyer’s premium is when the buyer pays an additional percentage on top of the purchase price to the auction house. Buyer’s premium varies depending on the auction house conducting the sale. Please check the terms and conditions of the sale you are bidding in for the buyer’s premium of that specific sale.
If an auction has Bidsquare's Lowest Buyer's Premium Guarantee seal it means when you bid on Bidsquare you are receiving the lowest buyers premium for the sale amongst other online platforms (this does not include an auction house’s own website).
To cancel/retract your bid in a live auction only, simply update your bid amount by submitting "0" as your bid amount. You will then see a popup and be prompted to confirm the change of your bid to "0" which will remove your bid. Once you click "Ok" to confirm, your bid should be successfully retracted.

In a Timed Auction, you will only be able to lower your bid amount to the next highest bid increment but not remove it completely if there are other existing bidders bidding on the same lot. This allows you to be outbid should an underbidder bid the next increment. You may however contact the auction house or Bidsquare directly to request that the bid be removed completely.

If you would like to place a new bid on the same item after retracting/canceling your bid - you may do so.
