HIME, Lt. Colonel Henry William Lovett (b. 1840 - ca. 1900s). Group of 4 Autograph Letters Signed and 1 Fair Copy. [London:] ca. 1800s. 10 pages on 5 8vo pages, 3 of which are on folded 4to leaves. Approximately 7 x 4 1/2" Some minor occasional edgewear and soiling. Fine.
Condition
These letters vary from accounts of his military service to his writings, and to some of the people with whom he has interacted. Hime is known for his well-regarded books on military history, "Gunpowder and Ammunition, Their Origin and Progress" and "The Origin of Artillery", and more. He also wrote books on mathematics, as well as a study on Lucian.
