Lot 226, A Pair of Louis XV Style Gilt Bronze Mounted Malachite Urns; Estimate $6,000 - $8,000; Sold for $6,048

Marvelous malachite! These powerful urns immediately stand out due to their bright colored bodies and gilt bronzed details. Malachite is a green banded and crystalized mineral that has been mined for over 3,000 years to be smelted into cooper, as well as formed into ornamental objects and gemstones. 

Lot 549, A Pair of George II Mahogany Console Tables; Estimate $2,000 - $4,000; Sold for $8,190

Lot 220, A Louis XIV Gilt Bronze Mounted Boulle Marquetry Vitrine Cabinet; Estimate $8,000 - $12,000; Sold for $12,600

The French craftsmen for which this cabinet was named, André-Charles Boulle, beautifully represents the refined technique of inlaid marquetry. This particular example is of the time period when the highest level of marquetry, a specific decorative skill, was mastered. Just imagine the romanic figurines, silver candlesticks or bone white dinnerwares that might be waiting to rest within the frame of these epic shelves.

Lot 550, A George II Giltwood Mirror, 18th Century; Estimate $2,000 - $4,000; Sold for $15,120

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the highest selling lot of them all? This giltwood mirror, rectangular shape is anchored by foliage and crowned with swan neck pediment and centered by a cartouche formed of foliate scrolls. Being the highest item to sell to a Bidsquare user during Leslie Hindmans sale, we hope it proudly reflects and flatters whom ever stands before it.
