§ Clifford Hall, ROI, NS (British, 1904-1973) Nuns in Chelsea signed upper left "Clifford Hall" oil on board 20 x 13cm (8 x 5in)
Other Notes: Clifford Hall studied at Richmond School of Art, then Putney School of Art and at the Royal Academy Schools from 1926-1927 and Paris in the late 1920s under Andre L'Hote. His first solo exhibition was at the Beaux Arts Gallery circa 1935. In 1946 he held his first solo exhibition at Roland Browse & Delbanco. His Memorial exhibition was at the Belgrave Gallery in 1977. His work is represented in many collections, including the Imperial War Museum, the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Arts Council.
