The Hudoq is a composite mythical beast that appears in agricultural rites, and has the power to drive away evil spirits from the rice fields. The wearer would be covered from head to foot in a costume of layered leaves. The ears of the mask have horn like projections that represent the wild animal fangs worn historically by Dayak men through their upper ear.
