.38 R.F. caliber, 28.25" octagonal barrel, S/N 4325 . With matching numbers throughout. The barrel is marked with Ballard's patent date, Ball & Williams name and address and Merwin & Bray Agts New York . The stock and forearm feature 3x deluxe wood, with a brass forearm cap and a crescent buttplate. Rare in this condition.
The barrel has nearly all of its original blue finish, with some very small areas of spots on the left side near the muzzle. The frame was likely once case colored and now has an even dark patina. The forearm has a slight crack extending from the underscrew to either side of the shell extractor. The butt is in excellent condition. The bore and action are excellent.
