CALIBER: 1560 The GMT Master was originally produced in 1954 as a result of the collaboration between Rolex and Pan American Airways. Pan Am needed a "tool" watch for pilots to track multiple time zones on transatlantic and transpacific routes. The GMT Master was the perfect watch for the job and has become one of Rolex's most recognizable models with its iconic blue and red "Pepsi" bezel. The present example, produced in 1966, is a beautiful specimen with its original gilt dial with Rolex logo printed in gold relief and matching gilt hands. The dial is immaculately preserved, retaining its original glossy finish without any marks or imperfections.

Condition
Dial in excellent condition. Hands appear original to the watch with signs of age. Bezel insert nicely faded with some scratches from wear. Luminous material in the dial and hands fully intact, aged to a beautiful pumpkin orange color with few dark spots, and appears original to the watch. Case appears to be unpolished with scratches throughout commensurate with normal wear. Movement running at time of cataloging. Overall in excellent condition and one of the best examples we've seen.
