Therese Weber (1813 Nymphenburg - 1875 Munich): At the white lake, Weißensee(?),Carinthia, Austria, 1837, Pencil
Technique: Pencil on Paper
Inscription: Inscribed and dated lower right: "Am weißen See den 12 August 1837".

Size: Paper: 24,9 cm x 43,1 cm (9,8 x 17 in)
Description: Detailed sketch of craggy rocks. Probably created during a journey in the Alpine region, South Tyrol, Tyrol, Austria or Switzerland.
Therese Weber owed her training as an artist to the encouragement of her uncle, General Freiherr von Weber, by some of the most renowned artists of her time, Karl Rottmann, Christian Morgenstern and Albrecht Adam. After her father's death, he took Therese in and recognised the girl's talent and inclination. The artist trained herself in the field of landscape painting and animal painting and occupied herself with modern languages as well as history and literature. On numerous trips to Alsace, Lorraine and the Bavarian Inn valley, she drew and painted nature. On a trip to Lake Tegernsee she met the botanist August Max Einsele, who inspired her to draw the plant world accurately and to create a picturesque herbarium. Therese Weber excelled as a plant painter and published several compilations on the local flora, especially of the Alpine countries. She also used the studies herself to decorate fans. Later in life, the artist also travelled frequently, accompanied by an adopted orphan. She travelled to Italy, France and Switzerland and took part in social life. She succumbed to diphtheria at the age of 62 and died on 30 December 1875.Keywords: 19th century, Romanticism, Landscape, Austria,

All your purchases are sent with DHL business customer mail (except small items outside the EU (see above) who are shipped with Deutsche Post Warenpost International). If a parcel requires a different transport service due to unusual size, we will coordinate this with you beforehand.-Shipping processing and duration
Once we receive your payment, we will process and ship your purchase within one business day. Delivery then usually takes another 1 to 3 working days within Germany. For deliveries within the EU, please calculate 5 to 8 working days. Delivery outside the EU can take 10 to 20 working days.
In the case of payment in advance, the period for delivery shall commence on the day after the payment order is issued to the remitting bank or, in the case of other forms of payment, on the day after the conclusion of the contract and shall end with the expiry of the last day of the period. If the last day of the period falls on a Saturday, Sunday or a general holiday recognized by the state at the place of delivery, the next working day shall take the place of such day.
