Auction Description

The Arts Foundation Fundraising Auction by The Arts Foundation

The Arts Foundation’s first fundraising auction features extraordinary artworks and unique experiences generously donated by leading artists Tracey Emin, Peter Doig, Jeremy Deller, Rose Wylie, Ali Smith, Andrew Cranston, Antony Gormley, Wayne McGregor, Rufus Norris, Holly Hendry and more!

Bid Now Until SUNDAY 24 September, 3 pm BST*

Online bidding opens on 14 September at auction.artsfoundation.co.uk and closes 3 pm BST on 24 September, with proxy bidding available on the night of the auction: Monday 25 September 2023. (*extended from 21 Sep)

All donated artworks will be auctioned in support of independent artists and creatives in the UK as part of the Arts Foundation’s prestigious Fellowship programme, the Arts Foundation Futures Awards. 

The awards provide vital unconditional funding across artistic disciplines to the most promising artists at a pivotal moment in their careers to enable them to concentrate on their creative development, experiment, and realise their artistic potential. 

 

How to Bid

  1. Visit auction.artsfoundation.co.uk

  2. Select ‘View Catalogue’ to browse the available artworks and experiences.

  3. Register on the site to bid in the auction, entering your name, address and card details.

  4. Select the lot you’d like to bid on, enter your maximum bid amount and click ‘Bid Now.’ 

  5. The system will automatically manage your bid up to your maximum amount - so be sure to enter your true maximum bid so you don’t miss out!

  6. Online bidding ends at 3 pm on Sunday 24 September. Best and final bids for all lots will be taken at the Live Dinner & Auction on Monday 25 September at Toklas Restaurant, London.

 

Live Auction & Dinner

The live auction will be hosted by Michael Macaulay, SVP and Deputy Chairman, Contemporary Art and leading auctioneer at Sotheby’s, and culminate in a celebratory dinner on Monday 25 September at Toklas Restaurant, with a special performance by Akeim Toussaint Buck (Arts Foundation Dance Theatre Fellow, 2023).

  9. Bidsquare’s main platform, Bidsquare.com, including proxy bids made on the night if users are registered via this specific platform, are subject to a 4% buyer’s premium (3% to Bidsquare, 1% to Arts Foundation), plus any associated shipping and applicable taxes, VAT, export or otherwise, etc.
  10. The Arts Foundation reserves the right to withdraw or combine any lots listed in the auction at any time with no liability.
  11. The successful winning bidder is the highest bidder acknowledged at the Live Dinner & Auction on Monday 25 September. The Arts Foundation will have final discretion in determining the winning bidder and in resolving any disputes between bidders. If any dispute arises after the sale concerning online bids or bids made by proxy, The Arts Foundation's sale record shall govern.
  12. Successful bidders must pay for the entire invoice prior to the item being released.
  13. The Arts Foundation reserves the right to cancel or replace an order post-auction if it was sold in error. In the event this occurs, The Arts Foundation may provide the winning bidder with the same, similar, or upgraded item at no additional charge to the bidder; or at The Arts Foundation’s sole discretion, provide a refund.
