.40-63 caliber, 30" octagonal barrel, S/N 19857 . With matching numbers throughout. The top flat of the barrel is marked with the caliber at the breech. The left side of the case hardened frame is marked withe the Marlin name and address and Ballard's patent. The barrel features a blade front sight and an adjustable rocky mountain rear sight. With double set triggers and a ring lever. With tapered walnut forearm and straight grip buttstock. The rifle includes the distinctive wooden ramrod.
The barrel is in very good condition, and retains most of its original blue finish with some light fading to the edges. The frame features bright and vibrant case coloring. The wood is in very good condition with minor handling marks in few places. The bore and action are excellent.
