Pair of Carved Anglo-Portuguese-style Mahogany Side Chairs, 18th century, each with undulating crest rail carved with fruit and foliate scrolls, reticulated splat with acanthine scrolls, upholstered seat resting on turned legs with shaped front stretcher, ht. 48 7/8 in.
Each with surface wear including scuffs and abrasions, nicks, particularly to feet and stretchers. Each with evidence of glue around joints of frontmost carved stretcher, and one with repair to its stretcher. One chair with repairs to crest rail and topmost carved element. Both seats have fabric in good condition.
