Aldo Andreolo

Italian, 1926-2020. Aldo Andreolo was a Postwar and Contemporary painter born in Venice, Italy. The artist studied art at the Venice Academy of Fine Arts. Aldo Andreolo's first prominent exhibition was held in 1949. The artist later went on to show at multiple exhibitions, including single shows. The artist was also a part of group exhibitions held in the USA, Japan, and Europe.

Today, the painter is considered a seminal figurative artist. For a brief period, during the early sixties, Andreolo was drawn to expressionism. By the end of the sixties, the artist adopted more mature styles, which are visible in his artwork series titled Newspaper Kiosks and Abandoned Cars. This series depicts Aldo Andreolo's style that emphasizes color laid with absolute tranquility. These paintings also create a nearly metaphysical environment. Andreolo's abstract expressionism inspired artworks during the 1950s, explore spiritual and sublime ideas. During the 2000s, the artist's allusive and elegant work became frequently haunted by repetitions of the twenties’ past of the era.
