SPRING THINGS | March 21st, 9am PST
Our spring sale brings together an exceptional selection of 20th century and contemporary furniture, lighting, planters, mirrors, art, and curated home accessories. The focus is European modernism with thoughtful American and Scandinavian counterparts, offering collectors and designers a layered, globally sourced mix with depth and character.
French design is especially well represented, including works by Pierre Chapo, Charlotte Perriand, Roger Capron, Charles Dudouyt, Audoux Minet, Mathieu Matégot, Pierre Guariche for Trefac Meurop, Philippe Scrive, Roger Feraud, Louis Vuitton, and René Malaval. Expect sculptural oak and walnut case pieces, woven rush seating, ceramic tile tables, and expressive metalwork.
Italian modernism brings architectural clarity through designs by Angelo Mangiarotti, Osvaldo Borsani, Carlo Di Carli for Fiarm, Adriano Piazzesi, Carlo Nason, Goffredo Reggiani, Mario Botta for Artemide, Aldo Ciabatti, and Piero Palange and Werther Toffoloni. Materials range from marble and travertine to chrome, glass, and richly grained hardwoods.
Scandinavian and American designers round out the sale, including Arne Jacobsen, Ilmari Tapiovaara, Nils Jonsson, George Nakashima, Heywood-Wakefield, Ron Rezek, Rainer Mutsch for Eternit, Paco Muñoz for Darro, Emu, Roberto Aloi, Alec Monopoly, and works associated with Roche Bobois.
Highlights include iconic concrete planters by Willy Guhl, sculptural lighting, studio ceramics, statement mirrors, and fine art by Robert Motherwell, William Eggleston, Maurice Perrenoud, Allan Gould, Philippe Makhloof, Jess Black, Grandon Frés, and Siegga Hamis.
