Auction Description

Silent Auction 2023 by Crocker Art Museum

For over 100 years, the Crocker Art Museum has served visitors to and residents of Sacramento, CA as the only accredited art museum in the region. In addition to featuring the world’s foremost display of California art and world-renowned holdings of European master drawing and international ceramics, we offer a diverse spectrum of exhibitions, events, and programs. We believe in the transformative power of art, and our activities are designed to engage, support, and inspire.
The 2023 Art Auction is a festive celebration featuring hundreds of original works by the region’s most renowned artists. Artists are invited to submit their best pieces for consideration months in advance, and the artworks are reviewed and selected by a committee led by the Crocker’s Mort and Marcy Friedman Director & CEO, Lial A. Jones and Ted and Melza Barr Chief Curator & Associate Director, Scott A. Shields. This annual event attracts art patrons, community leaders, and philanthropists from throughout the region to support artists and acquire great works of art, many of which are created by artists in the Museum’s permanent collection.
This year's Silent Auction features over 100 artworks. Bidding begins on May 10 and will end one artwork every minute beginning at 1 PM PST on Sunday, June 4. Support raised from this year’s Art Auction is critical for the Crocker and for the thousands of children, families, and adults the Museum serves every year. Your generous support is needed now more than ever, so remember to bid high and bid often!
