Shipping Info

SHIPPING
Our Shipping Department is pleased to handle the shipping of wine (including international wine shipment), and domestic shipping of jewelry, silver and coins.

Each item shipped in-house is carefully wrapped and double boxed with the appropriate packing materials, following carrier guidelines, to provide safety in transit. There is a minimum shipping and handling charge of $25. In an effort to provide complete confidence and satisfaction in your delivery, all in-house shipments are shipped with their declared value and full insurance per the carrier's terms and conditions. A signature is required for delivery.

Please be advised that LLA, Ltd. does not automatically ship items. If shipping arrangements cannot be completed online, please email the Shipping Department to request a quote. We will respond to your request in the order in which in was received. Please include the invoice number (if available), lot numbers, the correct shipping address and postal code with your request. Shipping quotes are valid for 15 days. Our Shipping Department is small in scale; shipping may take several weeks from the time of initial contact.

All items other than wine, jewelry, silver and coins, items needing expedited shipping, or items requiring international shipping, will require a third party shipping vendor. Choosing a third party shipping vendor requires that you complete our Shipping Release Form, which is available online. This form authorizes us to release your purchased items to another party. We will not release your lots to any shipper or third party until we have received this form and payment has been made in full.

Please note that for all shipments leaving our in-house shipping department, any and all additional charges, including but not limited to customs charges, are the sole responsibility of the buyer. If you reside in a state or country that has import restrictions or regulations, it is your responsibility to obtain appropriate licenses to ship your purchased items, such as wine or any restricted materials (see the restricted materials section for more detail).

Most of the wine sold at auction can be shipped in-house. Wine is shipped on Monday and Tuesday of each week to minimize weekend transit time. To prevent damage to wine from extended exposure to extreme temperatures, our Wine Director does not recommend shipment during warm weather months. Wine may be stored free of charge in climate controlled conditions for later shipment during cooler temperatures.

LLA, Ltd. complies with all applicable laws and carrier regulations regarding the shipment of wine. If shipping wine, buyer warrants that he/she is at least 21 years of age. Buyer shall be responsible for the shipment of these wines to be received and signed for by an adult at least 21 years of age.

By shipping in-house you are giving LLA, Ltd. permission to charge your provided credit card for said charges. All packing, handling, shipping, and delivery services are performed at the sole risk of the buyer. LLA, Ltd. assumes no legal or financial responsibility and is free from all liability associated with fulfilling your shipping request.

By bidding, you signify that you have either closely examined the items, have chosen not to examine them, or have hired an independent agent to examine the item(s) for you.  Condition reports are available via the online catalog or by contacting the LLA, Ltd. office.

TERMS
Sales are subject to the following terms and conditions of sale:  Bidding is available by live in-house bidding, absentee, and telephone, with an 18% buyer's premium, and live internet bidding is available with a 23% buyer's premium.  Payment is due at the end of the auction by cash, approved certified funds, wire transfer, approved check, PayPal, Visa or MasterCard with a domestic U.S. billing address.  Wire transfer fees will be incurred by the buyer.  North Carolina sales tax is 7.5%.   The online catalogue including full descriptions, condition reports, dimensions, and multiple images for each lot is available at www.lelandlittle.com.

PAYMENT

If a buyer fails to contact LLA, Ltd. within five (5) business days following the sale, the credit card used to secure the bid will be charged the amount of the invoice. For items purchased through live internet bidding, LLA, Ltd. will contact and send an invoice to all winning bidders via e-mail at the completion of the auction. If paying by check, LLA, Ltd. reserves the right to hold the item(s) until the check has cleared. Payment can be made by cash, approved certified funds, wire transfer, approved check, PayPal, Visa or MasterCard with a domestic U.S. billing address.  Federal law requires we report payments above $10,000 made by cash or certain other cash equivalents, such as money orders.  Credit card payments are subject to a $5,000 limit. AUCTIONEER
Leland J. Little, NCAL#6139; NCFL#7452.  The auctioneer always reserves the right to withdraw a lot for any reason he deems appropriate, including any lots that may have a reserve, or if there is a lack of bidding interest or lack of appropriate bids.  LLA, Ltd. shall have the right to withdraw any item at any time for any reason and to default any sale in the event of an error or dispute.

BIDDING
All registered bidders may bid in-person at the live auction held at Leland Little Auctions.  Absentee bidding can be conducted before the live sale at LelandLittle.com.  Phone bidding can be arranged at LelandLittle.com up to one (1) hour before the start of the live auction for domestic US bidders.  International bidders must arrange phone bidding no later than 5PM the day prior to the auction.  No additional phone bids can be accepted after this time, including additions when speaking with a staff person on the phone.  Once a Phone bid has been placed, contact numbers cannot be changed.  International bidders are responsible for entering appropriate country code and phone number.  All domestic US bids must be secured with a credit card number.  International bidders must satisfy pre-auction requirements prior to completing bid registration and may contact the front office for assistance.  All absentee bids will be executed in a fair, competitive and confidential manner.  While every effort is made to execute and honor absentee and phone bids, LLA, Ltd. is not responsible for failure to execute a bid and is not liable for any losses incurred as a result of failure to execute absentee bids or failed phone reservations.  All bids are time stamped.  In case of identical bids, the first bid received will take precedence.  Where appropriate, bids will be rounded down to the nearest amount consistent with the auctioneer's bidding increments.  NOTE: It is the bidder's responsibility to accurately record Lot Number, Bid Amount or Telephone Number on any bids submitted. LLA, Ltd. assumes no responsibility or liability in the event a bidder fails to do so. Leaving an absentee or telephone bid indicates the bidder is willing to open the bidding at one half the low estimate of the lot.  Bids cannot be submitted, altered, or cancelled via voicemail.

LIVE INTERNET BIDS
Live internet bidding is available during the auction.  Current bids on the internet will be executed on your behalf during the auction.  LLA, Ltd. cannot be held liable for live internet bids that are not sent, received, or executed by the administrator.  If you are bidding live, real-time on-line, please bid quickly because there is a time delay in receiving live bids.

RESTRICTED MATERIALS
Please note that lots containing ivory or any other plant or animal material may be subject to regulations imposed by the Endangered Species Act by the United States Fish and Wildlife Department as well as other restrictions under federal, state and/or local law. Some countries prohibit the importation of property containing materials from endangered plant or animal species and prospective purchasers should familiarize themselves with relevant customs regulations prior to bidding if they intend to import these item(s) into another country. We also suggest that buyers in the United States check with their state's wildlife protection agency for any restrictions on the purchase, possession or sale of ivory or any other animal material. Please note that bidders in New York and New Jersey may not bid on any lots containing elephant ivory, mammoth ivory, or rhinoceros horn. Items containing ivory can only be shipped to an address in the United States. Bidders should check all applicable government wildlife restrictions prior to placing a bid. The buyer will be solely responsible for obtaining any necessary license or permits applicable to the sale or transport of the item(s) including any export or import license and/or certificates as well as any other required documentation.

ESTIMATED WEIGHTS AND MEASUREMENTS
Weights in catalogue description have been estimated through measurement and are to be used as approximate guidelines and not relied on as exact.  Jewelry: Unless otherwise stated, all stones have been measured and graded in their settings.  Metal weight given for jewelry includes stones unless stated otherwise.  Buyers should be reminded that many colored gemstones have historically been treated to enhance their appearance.  Lab reports will be referenced in catalogue descriptions.  Silver:  Weights provided for flatware services do not include knives and other pieces with silverplate or stainless portions.

CLOCKS AND WATCHES
No warrantee that any clock or watch is in working order is given.  Virtually all clocks and watches have been repaired in the course of their lifetime and may include parts not original to them.  There is no guarantee to works or movement.  Unless otherwise stated, weight includes works.

OWNERSHIP
Item ownership is conveyed immediately following the fall of the Auctioneer's hammer.  While we try to handle and store items with great care, LLA, Ltd. will have no liability for any loss or damage to an item after the hammer has fallen.  LLA, Ltd. is not liable for any damages incurred if assistance with loading is requested.  Buyers are welcome to hire a professional shipping or moving company to assist with loading, packing, or shipping.

LOADING
Loading purchased items is the responsibility of the buyer.  LLA, Ltd. will, as a courtesy, assist with the loading following the sale, but this is done at the risk and responsibility of the buyer.  Arrangements for pick-up for buyers who wish to supply their own labor can be easily scheduled during gallery business hours at the registration desk.   LLA, Ltd. will have no liability for any damage while providing loading assistance.

STORAGE
Unless prior arrangements are made, pick-up within 10 working days of the auction is required, or a $10.00 per lot per day storage fee will be charged.  LLA, Ltd. requires two business days notice to schedule pick up of wine.

ABANDONED PROPERTY
Unless prior arrangements have been made, any lot(s) remaining at the LLA, Ltd. auction gallery more than 90 calendar days after the auction purchase date will be considered abandoned and will be resold at auction to off-set the storage fees.  LLA, Ltd. is not obligated to notify the winning bidder that the abandoned lot(s) will be resold at auction.
