Leonard Auction offers a fully illustrated catalog that may be purchased at the auction house for a nominal cost. Additionally, our website features a full color online catalog that is constantly updated before each auction. CAN I SEE THE ITEMS PRIOR TO THE AUCTION? Yes, all of the items for the upcoming auction are on display and available for inspection. We highly recommend that you view pieces in-person prior to placing any bids. The public preview is generally open Friday and Saturday prior to the auction as well as on auction day. IS THERE AN ADMISSION FEE TO ATTEND THE PREVIEW OR AUCTION? No, we do not charge an admission fee for either the preview or the auction itself. We do reserve the right to refuse admittance to either the preview or the auction. WHAT IS A “CONDITION REPORT”? Leonard Auction provides an opinion of the condition of each lot that is stated in a Condition Report. These statements are available on the online catalog and printouts available at the auction house. While we make every effort to accurately describe items, please note that items are Sold As-Is, Where-Is with all faults. We highly recommend that you view pieces in-person prior to placing any bids. WHAT DO I NEED TO REGISTER FOR THE AUCTION? New bidders will need a driver’s license or state ID to register for the auction. We reserve the right to require a credit card be placed on file prior to registration. WHERE DOES THE BIDDING START? As a general rule, Leonard Auction will open the bidding at 1/2 the low estimate. In some select cases bidding may open lower and in many cases bidding will open higher depending on pre-auction bidding activity. WHERE DO YOU START THE BIDDING IF I LEAVE AN ABSENTEE BID? If there is no pre-auction bidding activity, the absentee bid will open at 1/2 of the low estimate. If we have pre-auction bidding activity, the absentee bid will open at one bid above the highest pre-auction bid. CAN I RETURN AN ITEM THAT I PURCHASED AT AUCTION? No, all auction sales are final and we do not accept returns. We are happy to re-offer an item purchased from auction for a reduced commission provided the item was purchased for $200 or more.
