Authenticity Guarantee

We guarantee the authorship, origin, date, period, provenance, and condition as cataloged at time of sale. This guarantee lasts 180 days from the auction date and applies only to the original buyer of record.

Submitting a Claim

• Notify us in writing within 180 days.
• Include lot number, invoice number, and full explanation.
• Provide two written opinions from recognized experts (at your cost).
• The item must be returned in its original condition.

If accepted, we will refund the purchase price in full. This is the sole remedy for non-authentic items.

Item-Specific Terms

• Jewelry: Stones and metal purity guaranteed within 20% of catalog. Clarity and grading only if stated.
• Sterling: Weight and purity guaranteed within 10%.
• Art: Artist guaranteed unless qualified (e.g. “manner of”, “attributed to”).
• Designer goods & antiquities: Guaranteed as described.

Limitations

• Subjective descriptions (e.g. “excellent”, “good”).
• Changes in academic opinion.
• Scientific verification not available at time of listing.
• Undisclosed restorations or mounts unless noted.

Additional terms:

• SebastianCharles acts as agent for seller. Sales are between buyer and seller.
• All items sold “as is.” Buyers must inspect before bidding or request condition reports.
• We reserve the right to withdraw items before auction.
• All bidders must register. Financial references may be required.
• Invoices sent within 24 hours. Payments over $4,000 must be by wire, check, or Zelle.
• Title passes to buyer upon auctioneer’s final hammer. Buyer assumes risk immediately after.
• All lots may carry a confidential reserve not exceeding low estimate.
• Auctioneer may resolve disputes, reopen bids, or cancel sales at their discretion.
• All disputes fall under Minnesota law and jurisdiction.
• Our liability is limited to purchase price paid.
• Force majeure events may affect obligations.
• If any clause is unenforceable, others remain in effect.
