Session I June 7, 2020 at 9 am (cst) Session II June 7, 2020 at 1 pm (cst) Major Estate and Important collections auction. Simpson Galleries will be hosting a wonderful collection of fine art and antiques auction. Among some of the featured items in this auction include a rare map collection boasting some of the finest maps in the world. Pre-Republic period Texas maps as well as important Civil War-era maps of the United States of America. Simpson Galleries and its experts are also offering one of the rarest and most sought after maps on the planet. A rare and good example of the “Ptolemy Map of the World" by Johannes Schnitzer from the late 15th century. Simpson Galleries is also offering a lifetime collection of rare and complicated clocks and timepieces, featuring a very important tall case clock by E. Howard and Company circa 1870. Another highlight of this collection is a man's wristwatch by Vacheron Constantin from a private collection in San Antonio. Our “Fine Art” selection offers a very wide range of quality works by artists such as Roberto Matta, Porfirio Salinas, Kermit Oliver, Frederic Remington, Edouard Cortes, Francis Coates Jones, Dorothy Hood, and Wolf Kahn just to name a few.
