American, 1946. Mastercraft was established by the Doezema brothers whose ancestors were cabinet-makers. In the time period of WWII, the brothers went abroad and came back home with an intent of creating furniture with an urbanized flair. After Baker Furniture's took over Mastercraft, the firm created a large number of case pieces with attached brass plaques and semi-abstract style by German designer Bernhard Rohne.
