Shipping Info

Pick Up/Shipping: Peterborough Auctions has limited space and a busy schedule. Buyers are asked to make timely arrangements to pick up, or to arrange shipping of purchased lots. Designated pickup hours will be posted for the two weeks following each auction, after which all pickups are by appointment only. Buyers of large lots or buyers with multiple lots on their invoice are encouraged to schedule an appointment. Lots left in our gallery for 30 days without communication of arrangements are subject to storage charges ($5 per day, per lot); after 60 days these lots will be deemed abandoned and disposed of as seen fit by Peterborough Auctions.  

Peterborough Auctions does not directly ship any lots sold at our auctions, but works with a trusted and reliable shipping partner in Peter at  KaSa CMT, Inc. located right down the road here in Peterborough NH. He provides excellent services using FedEx, UPS, and the USPS. They can be reached via email at peter@kasacmt.com (preferred method is email) or at 603-784-5327. Please contact them directly for shipping quotes and shipping payment. The buyer is responsible for contacting KasaCMT after their invoice is paid in full and requesting shipping services, we do not contact them on your behalf. They will pick up your item(s) after your invoice is paid in full. 

Certain lots are subject to in house shipping quotes in an effort to expedite the process. In this case, shipping costs will be added to the invoice total. Lots will be shipped to the address on the invoice once payment is received. 

Jewelry ONLY Invoices: FULLY INSURED, Invoices up to $1000 is $30; Invoices from $1000-$3000 is $60; Invoices from $3000-$5000 is $90; Invoices over $5000 and international shipments will be quoted based on total and shipping location.

PLEASE NOTE: It is the responsibility of the buyer to update their address or inform us of an alternate address BEFORE making payment as the quoted/ flat rate shipping process is automated. We are not responsible for any additional fees to redirect a flat rate delivery.

Terms & Conditions

Buyer’s Premium: Peterborough Auctions Direct: Buyer’s premium is 22% for payment with check, cash or wire transfer; there is an additional 3% for credit card payments. Third party platforms (Liveauctioneers, Bidsquare and Invaluable) are subject to higher premiums. 

All sales are final:  All lots are sold as is, where is, with all faults, without warranty. The lot descriptions represent the informed opinion of Peterborough Auctions, but do not serve as a guarantee. All lots are available for examination in a public preview before the auction. By bidding on the lot, the buyer accepts these terms of sale. Within a reasonable margin, all weights and measurements should be considered approximate. The auctioneer has the sole right to settle disputed bids and decide whether or not to re-offer the lot. 

Absentee and Phone Bids: Peterborough Auctions offers phone and absentee bidding. Absentee bidding is available on all lots, in all auctions. Peterborough Auctions will execute bids on the bidder’s behalf, beginning at the opening or first available bid, up until the maximum absentee bid amount. Phone bidding is offered as a courtesy and subject to staff availability. Phone bidders bid live with a representative of Peterborough Auctions during the live auction. Phone bidders are encouraged to leave a back up bid, should the communications be interrupted during the auction. We encourage phone and absentee bidders to register at least 24 hours before the auction. 

Reserves: Lots may be offered subject to a reserve; a confidential minimum price agreed by the consignor and Peterborough Auctions. In most cases, the reserve will be set below the estimated range, but in no case will it exceed the low estimate. A representative of Peterborough Auctions  will execute such reserves by bidding on behalf of the consignor up to one increment below the reserve. The auctioneer reserves the right to reject an opening bid that in her opinion is not commensurate with the value of the lot. 

Payment:  Peterborough Auctions accepts payment by cash, credit card, check and wire transfer ($25 International fee, $10 Domestic fee will be added to invoice total). The auction house reserves the right to hold property for personal checks until the check clears, typically 3-7 business days. Potential buyers of expensive lots should discuss payment before the sale, some lots will have payment type restrictions as noted in the catalog description.

Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice. Credit cards may be charged 14 days following the sale if no communication about payment is made. Peterborough Auctions LLC, shall have no liability for any damage to property left on its premises as of the sale date. The buyer assumes responsibility for items at the fall of the hammer.
