Auction Description

Salmagundi Benefit & December Great Estates Auction by Willow Auction House

Willow Auction House is proud to present the Salmagundi Club Benefit Auction, as well as our December 2021 Great Estates Curated Auction. The first 118 lots of this sale are a fundraiser for the Salmagundi Club. From Nick Dawes, Chairman and CEO, Salmagundi: Salamagundi is 150 years old this year, and the historic club is replacing some of our old furniture with new. Our curator has selected artwork from our attic rooms to enhance this auction, and patrons have donated other property to help support the club, a 501c3 non-profit organization. We hope you will find something you like! Nick Dawes Chairman and CEO, Salamagundi.
Beginning at lot 200, Willow Auction House's final sale of 2021 offers a selection of mid-century and Danish modern furniture, jewelry, silver, artwork, bronzes, rugs and decorative items. Among the items up for auction, a collection of furniture and other items from the Roman and Williams designed 211 Elizabeth Street in New York City. Included are an Arne Norell Kontiki sofa and a pair of Don S. Shoemaker sling sloucher chairs. You can see a walkthrough of the apartment here. Also offered in this sale, a large selection of artwork, including a Sol LeWitt silkscreen, a hyperrealism sculpture by Carole Feuerman, several paintings by Mylo Quam, and mixed media pieces from Marcelo Bonevardi. Rounding out the auction, a set of 12 George III style chairs, a ladies Rolex watch, an Anton Michelsen sterling flatware set, a Peter Loving Danish modern desk, and a Chinese bronze and jade box.
