1951, France. Christian Lacroix is a well-known fashion designer who was born in Arles, France in 1951. He reveled in volume and color. Christian Lacroix was also celebrated for creating his own haute couture. His creations is an embodiment of his Provençal roots, his fascination with the clothing history, and passion for folklore. Lacroix had always enjoyed drawing since he was a little kid. Clothes were the recurring subject of his paintings. Often when asked about his long artistic career, young Lacroix mentioned he, someday, wanted to become Christian Dior, the popular French fashion designer.

However, as a child, Lacroix aspired to become a museum curator. In 1973, he received his degree at the University of Montpellier in Arts. After some time he received training at Evoke du Louvre. Soon after, he began to work at Hermes as a fashion assistant. A few years later, he would go on to work in many places such as an haute couture company in Japan. After his endless hustle, he started his own company in the 1980s. The French designer created huge acclaim when he started his own haute couture line. He launched a collection in south France, inspired by his childhood in 1985.
