Auction Description

Fine Books & Manuscripts by Potter & Potter Auctions

Our summer book sale with feature high spots in a range of categories. The auction will commence with a choice selection of early exploration titles including polar, atlases, and Americana. A wide array of modern firsts and important antiquarian books including a first edition of Moby Dick and a presentation copy from Charles Darwin are among the features of the literature session, and the sale will conclude with a selection of artist books and fine press titles, spotlighting entries for the “Caxton Club’s Reimagining ‘Chicago by the Book.’” works by some of the foremost book artists and binders of today, as part of the Club’s upcoming symposium to raise awareness for the arts.
